Android-x86 8.1 RC1 release: Run Android 8.1 Oreo System on PC
If you want to install Android open source solution on x86 machines or x64 computers, you may wish to install Android-x86, which currently base on Android Oreo 8.1. Although there are many projects running Android on PCs, most of them are closed, and related promotion apps will be implanted. Android-x86 may not be fast in updating but promises to provide a clean, safe, and open Android version.
Recently, the Android-x86 team released the latest candidate public version based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Although it is not yet the final release version, it is already very close to the official version. This candidate version brings many new features of Android Oreo, including smoother background management, smarter notifications, smart text selection, and more.
Also, the project has also added its features. Android-x86 supports booting and installation from UEFI system. Also, it also supports a wide range of hardware, including multi-touch screens, audio, WiFi, Bluetooth, cameras, and more. It helps a free windowing mode, meaning that you can use the app like a regular window on the desktop, and the taskbar uses a navigation bar experience that desktop users are very familiar.
