Apple announced launching iOS and macOS cross-platform porting in 2019
Apple’s macOS and iOS devices are getting closer in terms of functionality, and Apple is closing this gap. At yesterday’s WWDC Developer Conference, Apple said that it would not be easier to merge iOS and macOS but to make it easier to migrate iOS applications to macOS.
It is reported that Apple is already testing the new framework. In fact, news, stocks, voice memos, and home applications on Mojave are all portable versions of iOS applications. According to Apple, cross-platform migration is possible by integrating iOS UIKit framework elements directly into macOS and the existing AppKit framework used on the desktop.
This cross-platform porting feature is still under development. Apple promised to officially release this feature to developers sometime in 2019.
