Autodesk stops supporting Alias and VRED on macOS Mojave due to Apple deprecates OpenGL
In the official support document released by Autodesk recently, it announced that it would stop developing the Alias and VRED vertical market packages, and because Apple abandoned OpenGL, the old version cannot run on macOS Mojave. According to a note from the Autodesk support site, although older versions of Alias can run on High Sierra and earlier, “no versions of VRED will run on that operating system due to the OpenGL deprecation.”
According to a note posted on Autodesk’s support website
“After July 13, 2018, Autodesk will no longer provide Mac versions of Alias and VRED, beginning with version 19.1. Prior versions of Alias (2019.0 and earlier) can continue to run on High Sierra or earlier operating system versions. Once Apple releases Mojave, no versions of VRED will run on that operating system due to the OpenGL deprecation.”
