Avast user can upgrade to Windows 10 April Update now
A few days ago, users who had Avast antivirus products attempted to upgrade the Windows 10 April 2018 Update, there were black screens and incompatible error alerts. Microsoft officially admitted that the problem does exist and stopped pushing Windows 10 Version 1803 updates to users who have installed Avast antivirus products. However, today Avast has released a fix to help Avast users complete the Windows 10 feature update as soon as possible.
Initially, Avast said there was no evidence that the company’s anti-virus products had caused the upgrade to fail, but then a company engineer said that it had cooperated with Microsoft and acknowledged that the problem did exist through in-depth analysis of the upgrade behavior.
“In cooperation with Microsoft we have identified an element of the latest Windows 10 1803 update that is incompatible with the Avast Behavior Shield, causing the aforementioned update to fail in some instances (related to a timing issue, Internet connectivity issue, etc),” a post on the Avast forums reads.
Avast engineers said: “We have found a way to prevent the problem and are now automatically pushing a VPS update to all customers which makes sure that the problem doesn’t happen. The VPS number is 180524-08; all users running this version (or later) should be 100% safe.”
