Microsoft: Windows 10 S users will free upgrade to Windows 10 Home Edition
Microsoft is planning to convert Windows 10 S from a standalone system SKU to a simple one that works on all other versions, and the company has also made some changes to move the change forward. Users who have already purchased Windows 10 S devices can upgrade to Windows 10 Professional for free before March 31, after which users will be charged a $ 49 fee if they want to upgrade. However, Windows 10 S gradually as a model of Windows 10 system, Microsoft allows users a free upgrade to the full version of Windows 10.
According to WindowsCentral, it’s still going to cost $49 to upgrade from Windows 10 S to Windows 10 Professional after the Microsoft promotion ends, but free upgrade to Windows 10 Home Edition and unlimited time.
In fact, earlier this month, Microsoft consulted with Windows 10 Home, Business, and Enterprise on the survey to activate S Mode.
S Mode can be considered as a limitation on Windows 10 systems, unable to run most Win32 applications, and can only be downloaded and installed through the Microsoft Store. Foreign media speculation that Windows 10 Home Edition S Mode and Windows 10 Professional should be similar but does not include such things as BitLocker and Remote Desktop consumers do not need.
