Opera browser has been added to Ubuntu Snap Store
Recently, Canonical announced that the Opera web browser can now download as a Snap app in the Ubuntu Snap store.
With more than 322 million users worldwide, Opera has unique features such as a built-in VPN and a separate messenger sidebar to meet the needs of demanding users. Chinese investors acquired opera for $600 million in 2016. Some privacy-conscious users may wish to disable the browser’s built-in VPN, as the exact location of the traffic’s first route is still unclear so far.
Snaps is a containerized package designed to work across multiple Linux distributions and platforms, including IoT and desktop versions. Delivering with Canonical’s snap technology means that Opera is now better able to keep its Linux users up to date. The best and safest browser version.
Opera said: “…installation of our browser on Linux just got easier than ever before,” while VP of Engineering at Canonical, Jamie Bennett, says the company is “delighted to welcome Opera to the Snap Store and further expand the choice of applications available to the Linux community.”
Run the below command to install Opera on Ubuntu
