In previous versions of Windows 10, users could only run one instance in a UWP application. However, in version 1803, an application containing multiple instances can execute a new process if the activation request passes.
Microsoft has described several code samples and templates in detail and demonstrated and introduced how developers can add this capability to UWP applications. New or existing instances of UWP applications can use these deployments for independent startup and personalization.
