ZACROS Corporation, a leading manufacturer of packaging materials, announced that it has suffered a ransomware attack that has resulted in the leak of personal information. The attack, which was first detected on September 27, 2024, affected some of the company’s servers for its production management and ERP systems.
In an official announcement, ZACROS revealed the scope of the data breach, which involves the personal data of approximately 157,203 individuals. This includes 143,718 business partners and related parties whose information, such as names, company addresses, and business emails, was compromised. Additionally, 13,485 current and former employees and their family members were affected, with leaked data including basic pension numbers and insurance details.
ZACROS Corporation has submitted a report to the Personal Information Protection Commission and is in the process of notifying affected individuals. The company has also implemented a number of measures to prevent future attacks, including strengthening security for its production management and ERP systems, reviewing emergency response protocols, and expanding information security training for employees.
ZACROS has acknowledged the incident’s implications on its financial performance, referring stakeholders to its Q2 FY2025 Financial Results, released on November 13, 2024.
