8 Trusted Steps for Writing the Best Essay in School

Writing an essay can seem like an overwhelming task, especially when you’re under the pressure of a looming deadline and the fear that your grade depends on how well you perform. Fortunately, there are many trusted steps you can take to guarantee a high-quality essay every time. Just follow these eight trusted steps and you’ll have an A+ paper on your hands that will impress your teachers and make you look like an experienced essay writer who knows how to take care of business!

Step 1: Know Your Topic

The first step to writing a successful essay is to know what you’re writing about. The more detailed your topic, the easier it will be to write about it. Think of your topic as a map that will guide you through your essay. Being vague and general doesn’t work when you’re trying to convince someone of something, so don’t be vague when coming up with an idea.

Step 2: Choose The Tone

Choose the tone of your essay based on what you want to achieve with it. For example, if you want to write a persuasive essay, then the tone should be passionate and compelling. If you want to write an informative essay, then the tone should be factual and informative. This step is important because it will dictate how readers feel about your writing. The tone may also influence how persuasive or factual the essay is as well as how easy it is to read and understand.

Step 3: Start Your Intro With An Attention Grabber

Start your intro with an attention grabber to keep your reader reading. For example, if you were writing about Albert Einstein’s theories, you could start off by saying Albert Einstein was born on March 14th, 1879, and died on April 18th, 1955. You might think that this would be a simple introduction sentence, but many people don’t know how old he was when he died! The reason I wrote this blog post is because I want to help my fellow classmates get better at writing essays. When it comes down to it, we are all going through the same thing: taking classes at school and being told to write essays every other day.

Step 4: Be Simple and Concise

Be as simple and concise as possible. The best essays are usually short and to the point, with no fluff or unnecessary information. Avoid sentences that start with I feel or In my opinion. These types of sentences will not help you make your argument stronger, but instead, just take up valuable space. You want to get right to the point, so keep your sentences short and sweet.

Step 5: Use Powerful Words And Phrases

Use powerful words and phrases. The power of words cannot be underestimated. There are many synonyms that you can use to make your essay more captivating, but some words are more powerful than others. For example, if you’re writing about your love of music, try using addictive or thrilling instead of enjoyable.

Step 6: Write An Ending That Makes A Lasting Impression

Write a story that makes a lasting impression. End your essay with a strong, memorable image or scene. The final sentence should leave readers thinking about what they have just read and considering how it relates to their own life. This can be achieved by writing a good ending to the story which leaves readers thinking about what they have just read and considering how it applies to their own lives.

Step 7: Edit And Proofread For Mistakes

Proofread your essay to check for any mistakes, whether they are spelling errors, punctuation errors, or grammar mistakes. Even one mistake can greatly affect your grade and give your essay a sloppy appearance. Double-check all sentences to make sure that they are grammatically correct and coherent with the rest of your paper. If you have not used proper capitalization or punctuation throughout your paper, now is the time to go back through it and fix any mistakes.

Step 8: Get Feedback From Others

Get feedback from your parents, teachers, and friends. Ask them to read over your essay and tell you what they think about it. Ask if there are any sentences that are unclear or confusing. If anything needs to be added or changed, you can do so before turning it in! This will also give you time to make corrections as well. It is also a good idea to get your essay proofread by someone else who is not familiar with the subject matter, as this will give you a fresh perspective on your work.
