Amazon Web Services: What Is It and What Makes It So Successful

Amazon Web Services or AWS is so present in cloud computing, providing cloud services for big and small businesses across the globe, that we can safely say that they have become a part of the fabric of this world. In fact, it makes up over a third of the market.

In total, AWS can serve 245 countries and territories, with servers located in over 80 zones, a number that keeps on growing. This physical location diversity can allow users to set geographic limits on their servers, but most importantly it provides security.

In simple words, AWS is a collection of cloud computing services and products, which is trying to move companies away from physical computing technologies and into the cloud. It offers incredibly useful, profitable, and secure hosting solutions. In addition to servers and storage, it also provides networking, remote computing, email, mobile development, and security.

Amazon offers three main AWS products: Amazon EC2, Glacier, and Amazon S3. EC2 is a virtual machine service, Glacier is a low-cost cloud storage service, and S3 is Amazon’s storage system.

It’s Secure and Reliable

Security is the number one concern nowadays for most businesses. AWS has data centers scattered in 25 geographic regions around the world, which is how it can protect your data so well. And this is one of the most appealing things about it, as well as one of the things that makes it so successful. Using this platform can ensure incredible reliability and security. Also, Amazon Web Service gives you a way to improve your ability to meet core security and compliance requirements.

Moreover, AWS data protection services use encryption and they constantly monitor for potential threats to your accounts. By learning the key areas of AWS cloud security, you can automate manual security tasks, and, you will be able to understand how you can use it to keep private data and information safe. This is incredibly beneficial for any business

It’s Cost-Effective

To store in the cloud, a company needs a large amount of storage space to accommodate not only your business but also any potential business growth. On the one hand, buying too little storage space can be a problem if your business grows, on the other hand, buying too much storage space is expensive and you may end up not even using it.

But, when they use AWS, companies will only pay for what they really use, including storage, compute power, and so on. Plus, it is done without a long-term contract. The costs are scaled automatically and, more importantly, accordingly.

It’s Flexible and Adaptable

When you use AWS, you will have the control you need to run a business with flexibility and adaptability. The platform provides an incredible number of options. It allows you to choose an operating system, a web application program, database, programming language, and many more.

It’s Easy to Use

AWS comes with a so-called AWS Management Console, a user-friendly interface, which gives you access to different services and applications. Whether you want to migrate an existing business or you need a platform that provides powerful and secure web hosting, using AWS products doesn’t require a high-level IT skill.

Moreover, once they set it up, this platform will allow companies to automate a wide number of tasks, and virtually let you forget about the IT needs. This will allow you to put your focus on other aspects of your business, innovate, scale, and grow.

It’s Great for Small Businesses

The cost of AWS is based on usage, so using Amazon is the ideal solution for startups and small businesses. In fact, because it offers so many tools, many of which are necessary for you to get started in the cloud, it is the perfect platform to build your business from scratch.

It also allows simple and low-cost migration services, which means that if you already have a business, you can move your infrastructure seamlessly to AWS. Moreover, the platform provides resources to enable expansion and adapt as the business grows.

Conclusion

Right now, the computing world is unimaginable without Amazon and the cloud services it provides. However, this incredible success isn’t surprising considering how beneficial the cloud services it provides are for businesses across industries.

Another very important factor for this popularity is the incredible AWS cloud security. And, on top of that, Amazon Web Service cloud services are very affordable. Not only do they come with low prices, but they are paid according to what the customer is using.
