Calculate Linux 17.12.2 release, Gentoo-based distribution
Calculate Linux is an optimized distribution designed for rapid deployment in the corporate environment. It is based on Gentoo but provides a number of pre-configured features.
Calculate Linux comes in four main flavors: Calculate Linux Desktop for personal use, Calculate Directory Server for servers, Calculate Linux Scratch for those who want to build a customized system that works for them and Calculate Media Center for your home multimedia center.
All versions of CL are distributed as bootable LiveCD images that can be used to install on an HDD, a USB Flash or a USB-HDD.

Changelog v17.12.2
The latest version of the project, Calculate Linux 17.12.2, fixes the Specter and Meltdown CPU vulnerabilities, restores the capabilities of the LXC container, allows the network interface to be renamed, and uses swap space files instead of disk partitions.
Main change
- We moved to the new Gentoo 17.0 profile. All binary packages were rebuilt, in the repo as well as on Live DVDs/USBs
- All currently available Meltdown and Spectre patches were included
- grub.d privileges are safe now
- Restore functionality supported for LXC containers file capabilities
- Network interfaces can be once again renamed and saved
- Password configuration fixed for editing Grub entries
- IO Scheduler option removed
- Network configuration inside containers fixed
- File attributes updated correctly by templates
- Kernel start fixed (warnings and errors OK)
- Possible to use a file as swap memory
Officials said the entire package has been rebuilt and some fixes have been made, and eight flavor flavors are now downloadable:
