Debian Repository added to the Specter and Meltdown Vulnerability checker

Linux 4.9 LTS kernel

The aftermath of specter and meltdown vulnerabilities affecting almost all modern processors has not gone away, and hardware and software vendors are still working together to patch the platform. If you are running a Debian GNU / Linux environment and want to check if there are serious security vulnerabilities in your system, you can now download Specter and Meltdown Mitigation Checker from the Debian repositories. The Debian project team said that users can complete the installation of the script by entering a single-line command.

Earlier this month, foreign media Softpedia released a security check tutorial for Linux PC users. But now, Debian GNU / Linux users simply open the terminal and enter the following command line:

sudo apt-get install spectre-meltdown-checker

Then run ” specter-meltdown-checker ” command, you can immediately see the test results:

If your computer is vulnerable to any of these speculative attacks, make sure your machine has the latest available Debian GNU / Linux kernel bundles and the latest version of the software from the official repository.

Of course, remember to keep your PC up-to-date.
