Get the Most Out of Your Internet Connection in 2020

Sometimes, the speed you have for your Internet might not cut it. Whatever you’re looking to download or upload is taking ages and is chewing up all of the bandwidth as well. Don’t you wish there was a way you could quickly get whatever you want uploaded or downloaded? You can employ a few methods to help get the most out of your Internet speed in 2020.

Utilize third parties.

If your ISP is throttling your bandwidth, getting anything downloaded or uploaded would be next to impossible. If that’s the case, you want to find a way to anonymously get what you’re doing. The answer to that would be to use a service such as Seedboxes or a VPN. These boxes utilize a remote server with an incredibly fast Internet connection to help you download torrents or upload files to it. The other benefit to using it is that they are extremely private, and your ISP won’t be able to track them at all. If you need to get a large file downloaded fast, turn to a third party to help you do it.

Change your WiFi channels.

If you’re not getting the speed you should be getting with your WiFi, take a look at the bandwidth channels and see if there are any issues. Some routers will look for channels that are the least congested. However, others will just take the first channel it can find. This results in many routers being on the same frequency in the neighborhood. This will certainly cause you to have much slower speeds and even some connectivity issues. The best way to resolve this is to find a new channel for your WiFi connection, and move it there. The less overlap you have with your neighbors, the better your service is going to be.

Move your router.

Sometimes, one of the biggest reasons for your Internet issues aren’t what your ISP is doing or what your neighbors are doing, but instead, how you’ve placed the router in your home itself. While using WiFi is supposed to be a reliable connection, it can lose its reliability if it has to travel through thick concrete walls. If this is the case, you have two options. The easiest would be to relocate the router to a different area in the house. Moving away from the thick outer layer walls will help to get better speeds and connections. The other is to pick up a signal booster. These can be placed around the home and help boost the signal in areas where the connection is weak. Find a solution that works for you and pursue it.

With the current pandemic, the last thing you want to worry about is an unreliable Internet connection. Using these tips, you should be able to find a way to get yourself the Internet connection you need. If all else fails, don’t be afraid to contact your ISP and get answers to these questions. How do you plan to use your Internet?
