Hackers changed and removed a lot of popular music videos on Youtube
There are some suspicious things happening on YouTube. It seems that Google’s subsidiary has been attacked by hackers because some popular music videos have been destroyed or suddenly disappeared. In fact, the most viewed videos on the platform – Louis Fonsi and Desaddito of Daddy Yankeee are temporarily unavailable on YouTube.
It is not yet clear what the source of the attack was, but most of the affected videos were uploaded from the Vevo account. According to a report by The Verge, other affected videos include songs by Chris Brown, Shakira, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift. Most of these clips have been edited to remove corrupted content.
One of the hackers involved in the attack said that they use scripts to tamper with the video. At the same time, another member of his hacker group threatened to cancel NASA’s YouTube channel, as well as disputed Paul brothers Logan and Jack channels.
Google for comment on the breach. “Vevo can confirm that a number of videos in its catalog were subject to a security breach today, which has now been contained,” says a Vevo spokesperson. “We are working to reinstate all videos affected and our catalog to be restored to full working order. We are continuing to investigate the source of the breach.”
