IEEE Spectrum: Python is the most popular programming language in 2017

IEEE Spectrum announced its list of 2017 popular programming languages. It uses 10 online sources to combine 12 indicators to rank 48 languages. The results show that Python is still the 2017 most popular programming language. The popularity of Top 4 – Python, C, Java, and C++ – is not much different. In terms of recruitment market demand, C language is more sought after than Python.

Other languages ranked ahead include C#, R, JavaScript, PHP, Go, Swift, Arduino, Ruby, Assembly and Matlab, and so on. Rust dropped to 22 bits and Objective-C replaced by Swift dropped to 26 bits.
