Iranian security researcher Meysam Firouzi revealed to the media that he successfully connected to the App Store while using a VPN, despite having Iran-related details set on his account.
Due to the sanctions imposed by the United States, Apple no longer sells products to the Iranian region and therefore does not impose restrictions on the use of the mall. However, there are about millions of iPhones in Iran, many of which were smuggled from Dubai and Hong Kong, and iPhone users in the Iranian region can adjust their equipment to other countries and access the App Store.
As early as August of last year, Apple began to remove applications for Iranian residents served by Iranian developers on the App Store. The most typical of these is the Snapp application, which is a very popular Uber-like application in Iran. Obviously, Apple is now taking further action to prevent all users from the Iranian region from accessing the App Store.
