How to fix Detect and Mount CD-ROM
On your Kali Linux USB installation, you ofter see an error:
“Installation step failed an installation step failed. You can try to run the failing item again from the menu, or skip it an choose something else. The failing step is Detect and Mount CD-ROM”
So, how to fix it.
- Download and install Win32 Disk Imager
- Download Kali Linux iso image file
- Run Win32 Disk Imager
- Choose your usb device and your Kali Linux iso image file, click Open
- Click Write
- Choose Yes
- Wait 😀
- Done! Now, you can install Kali Linux without seeing “Detect and Mount CD-ROM” error.
