Spiceworks Report: By 2020, 90% of companies will adopt biometric authentication technology
A recent survey released by Spiceworks, a foreign company, said that by 2020, 90% of companies will adopt biometric authentication technology. The survey targeted more than 500 respondents in North America and Europe, and the theme revolves around the rapidly developing biometric authentication technology. The results showed that 62% of the respondents had taken different forms of biometric certification, and 24% of respondents said they would adopt biometric authentication technology in the next two years.
However, while most people believe that biometrics are more secure than passwords, PINs, and personal verification issues, others are concerned about this. Only 10% of respondents believe that using only biometric authentication is sufficient to ensure safety. In most cases, people use multifactor authentication methods.

Others include hand posture recognition (5%), iris scanning (3%), and voice recognition. (2%) and palm vein recognition (2%). In addition, corporate organizations most often conduct biometric authentication on smartphones (46%), followed by laptops (25%) and tablet devices (22%).
Many IT experts believe that in the next two to three years, biometric authentication will not completely replace text passwords, but it will still be an important verification method.
