SUSE Linux Enterprise High Performance Computing Open Beta
With the upcoming SUSE Linux Enterprise 15, SUSE announced the launch of the beta program for SUSE Linux Enterprise High-Performance Computing (HPC). The beta test project focuses on 64-bit and ARM 64-bit architectures.
SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 will introduce many new features and improvements, including new installers, and SUSE Linux Enterprise High-Performance Computing (HPC) also includes a series of components for high-performance computers.
The HPC version also includes workload manager, cluster monitoring and management software, multiple selected MPI deployment solutions, an environment module system, and rich development and running points. Vincent Moutoussamy, SUSE open beta project and SDK project manager, said: “With the new SLE 15 Installer, there is now a single unified way to install one of the SLE products: the SLE HPC 15 option will set up the installation including the HPC module and lets the user chose between system roles customized for HPC which will simplify the installation of development, control and compute nodes.“
