The new web version of Gmail screenshot exposure
Google revealed yesterday that it plans to launch new Gmail designs in the coming weeks. Gmail users on the web will see the updated design and bring it closer to the company’s adjustments to Gmail on mobile devices. Verge has already got a screenshot of the new Gmail design and is currently being tested internally by Google and by trusted partners. The new design includes some of the subtle elements of Google’s material design, as well as some of the new features initially introduced for the Google Gmail inbox overhaul.

Google is implementing a smart reply to Gmail on the web, which is the same feature that is provided for Gmail for mobile, providing suggestions for quick response emails. The new snooze feature also allows users to temporarily delete emails from their inbox until a certain period of time after the user is ready to reply. Pauses and smart replies are currently part of Google’s Gmail inbox application, and both of these features are now available on the web version of Gmail.

The new Gmail design also comes with a new sidebar that can choose to use Google’s calendar, the Keep Notes application or use the tasks side-by-side with your email. This may be the most useful part of the redesign, which makes it easier to schedule meetings or to see when users are available when they respond to emails.
Google offers three new layouts to choose from, including a default view, highlighting attachments such as documents and photos, a comfortable view, not highlighting attachments, and zooming out of views to increase the number of information users see on a single page. The compact view is most similar to existing Gmail designs, allowing existing users to maintain a similar layout.
Google now plans to provide this new design for G Suite and Gmail users in the coming weeks. The Google I/O Developers Conference will begin on May 8 in Mountain View, California, so we have reason to believe that this new Gmail design will be part of many launches at the show.
