Twitter freezes a large number of fake accounts
Twitter, the social networking, is currently cleaning up automated programs and fraudulent accounts. The social networking site said it had blocked at least 50 million fake accounts in May and June.
Most of these fake accounts created through automated programs and then used to publish false reviews and forwards as well as attention as a water force for marketing.
The Twitter official said that when it detects that the user account may be abnormal, it will automatically lock the account and contact the account owner to request a password or other content.
If the account owner is locked out within a specified time limit without performing the corresponding operation, the account cannot be logged in and the data initially concerned will change.
Because Twitter will remove all false accounts from fans of an account, the amount of attention paid by users who pay for fans will drop significantly.
Twitter said that although they know that this method will cause harm to some users, it is necessary to maintain the transparency of the Twitter platform.
In the future, Twitter will continue to clean up various automated programs and fake accounts. Of course, some regular users may also receive email prompts to request a password reset.
