Ubuntu 18.04 LTS will adds “Minimal Install” options
With the official launch date on April 26 approaching, more and more features of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS are being exposed. According to omgubuntu, the Ubuntu installer Ubiquity will add a “Minimal Install” option, when installing Ubuntu 18.04, you can choose whether to install a full-featured Ubuntu or a simplified version.
By default, Minimize Installation contains about 80 desktops, web browsers, some of the core system tools, and so on, removing about 80 packages and related files from the full version, including:
- Thunderbird
- Transmission
- Rhythmbox
- LibreOffice (including language pack)
- Cheese
- Shotwell
- ‘Example Content’
