Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS Release: New Desktop Layout & Better Support for HiDPI
With the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver) system that was launched yesterday, Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS was officially launched today with the Linux Kernel 4.15 kernel. By default, the latest MATE Desktop 1.20.1 desktop environment is used, bringing with it many improvements and new features. Includes better support for HiDPI monitors, new desktop layouts, and more.

Many components and applications in Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS have been updated, Caja File Manager can encrypt your privacy files, Marco Window Manager gets hardware acceleration, MATE Dock Apple provides icon scrolling and matching, and MATE Tweak lets you Switch HiDPI mode more easily.
Slick Greeter has become the default login screen, most applications support color emoji, in addition to many software updates, including VLC Media Player 3.0, LibreOffice 6.0 and Mozilla Thunderbird 52.7.0 and so on.
