3 Tips for Improving Your Writing Style

Do Son May 8, 2020 2 minutes read
Writing Style

Whether it’s your passion, hobby, or the start of a career, you need to keep in mind that you’re writing for an audience. Also, most of the people today are not willing to spend much time reading something, and you might only have a handful of seconds to catch their interest. Otherwise, your visitors will leave.

When writing on popular sites like The Doe, you need to follow a particular style to keep the readers interested. Here are some tips to help.

Engage With the Readers

Content is good if it engages with a reader, but how do you do that? Well, it’s simple, you need to involve your reader.

By asking questions and speaking to them directly, you’re engaging with your readers. But of course, you can’t ask too many questions.

Write Short Paragraphs

Do you stick around a web page that displays walls of content? Most likely not. The reason is that it might be visually overwhelming, and you don’t want to read through everything to find what you’re looking for on the web page.

You should write 5 to 6 sentences or less, per paragraph. This way, your content is more presentable, and a reader will feel more comfortable.

Use Short Words

When it comes to blogs, short words are always better.

Although it does depend on your target audience, writing easy-to-read content can get your message across more easily. If you feel like showing off your vocabulary, remember that the readers only care about what’s in it for them. They are not interested in seeing how good you are as a writer.
