Anonymous Italy hacked and deleted the entire 39.4 gigabytes speed camera database
Last week, the computer system at the Correggio police station in Italy was attacked by anonymous hackers. Hackers successfully controlled the police camera internal speed camera database, and delete some of the data.
According to Gazzetta di Reggio, an Italian media, hackers also sent an e-mail to local and national newspaper editorial offices using the police’s internal e-mail account. Hackers use a large number of characters in an email to create an icon from the movie “V For Vendetta”. The email attachment contains a total of 9 files, including several computer screenshots and a PDF file.

Another screenshot shows the process of deleting a file by a hacker. According to this screenshot, there are more than 39.4GB of the file is deleted. Police confirmed that these documents were taken recently by a speed camera.
There is also a screenshot related to emails sent by staff at Correggio Data Center, who explains that due to serious problems he has restored the Concilia database using a December 5 backup.

Also of note is the attached PDF file, which shows the discussion between the local police and the municipal authorities about the distribution of fine profits for speed cameras. At present, the police are still investigating the case.
