Best Tips for Enhancing Netflix Security Quickly

Netflix saw a huge surge in subscriptions when the pandemic began. Naturally, the rise in streaming necessitated an increase in VPN usage, and with that came rising security concerns among streaming enthusiasts who rummaged the internet in search of the best VPN for Netflix.

The 21st century saw some major data hacks, and Netflix accounts are often hacked, leaving users all the more worried about their privacy. If you’re one of the 79% Americans fretting about their online privacy being compromised while you stream your favorite content on Netflix, this blog is for you.

Scammers and hackers can hack into your account through the following 3 ways:

1. Phishing Campaigns

Scammers have become pretty smart and they have derived a great tactic of hacking Netflix user accounts through phishing campaigns. They’ll send you fake emails with links and, when you click on those links, they will take you to a different page. On this page you will be required to enter your credentials and once you enter them, they are stored with the scammer.

This is one of the most common and growing tactics. Be aware of such attempts and always make sure that you do not fall into any such traps.

2. Subscribing through Phone Service Provider

Ever since phone service providers have started giving subscriptions, users have been robbed off their money as scammers use their details for subscribing to Netflix. However, users stay unaware of this until and unless they notice an increased charge on their monthly bill.

3. Accounts left open at Hotels and Airbnbs

People often leave their Netflix account logged in while travelling and staying at hotels or using Airbnb rooms. Once they check out, anyone can toy with their account by accessing their account and changing their password.

How to Protect Your Netflix Account From Being Hacked?

You can protect your Netflix account by using the following techniques:

1. Using a Unique Netflix Password and Keep Changing it from Time to Time

The best way to protect your Netflix account is to set a unique password for your account and keep changing it from time to time. This way, no one will be able to guess your password and your account will stay secure.

2. Add a Recovery Phone and Email

Always add a recovery method for your Netflix account, so that if your account gets hacked, you will be able to recover it instantly. Otherwise you will be left at the mercy of the hackers.

3. Use a VPN to Protect Your Traffic

By using a VPN, you can protect your identity and surf the web without any worries. Staying safe from hackers and scammers is one of the reasons why you need a VPN for Netflix, in addition to unblocking Netflix libraries, of course.

4. Always Sign-out after Using Your Account

Make it a habit to always sign out of your Netflix account when you are done with streaming. This way, no one can get their hands on your Netflix account. Even if you are taking a small break, let’s say for half an hour, sign out of your account.

5. Never Share Your Password With Anyone

Many people have a habit of sharing accounts over messengers, which is a highly risky thing to do. Hackers can always hack into your messengers and then it will be a treat for them if they find your credentials in your chat history.

Clearly, using a VPN for online streaming is becoming increasingly important. Now that you’re aware of ways to secure your privacy while streaming on Netflix, we hope you can have a smooth streaming experience without a worry in the world!
