Debunking Outsourced Marketing Myths

Outsourcing is somewhat of a buzzword in the business world today, and it also has a bit of a negative connotation. But, when you’re talking about lead generation and outsourced marketing teams, it’s actually a very positive word. When you can use a lead generation agency or a sales agency to outsource your marketing needs, you can focus on growing your company instead of worrying about conversions and lead acquisition. Outsourcing myths abound, but here’s the real truth.

Myth 1: Outsourcing Sends Jobs Overseas

Yes, some outsourcing services are based overseas, especially in manufacturing and customer service, but outsourced marketing and sales agencies are usually located in the U.S. They exist to provide professional, expert sales and marketing services to companies that don’t have the budget or ability to hire their own internal sales teams. As you may know, hiring the right people for sales jobs is extremely challenging. By outsourcing your sales team, you gain access to an already-trained sales team that’s ready to hit the ground when you are.

Myth 2: Outsourcing is Expensive

The cost of outsourcing your marketing tasks will actually save you money in the long run. Think about how much you spend on hiring your salespeople and how much it costs to train each one of them. Then, think about what happens when one of your salespeople leaves. You have to pay to hire and train their replacement, spending this money again. With an outsourcing agency, you don’t spend anything on hiring or training. You only spend money on lead generation and other marketing and sales activities. In other words, your only expense is on activities that directly generate revenue.

Sure, developing your own internal sales team will eventually pay off, if you do it right. But, if you don’t have experience in developing a sales team, you may be throwing good money after bad. If your training program doesn’t result in sales employees who stay with your company and produce revenue, then you’re really wasting your hard-earned money. With an outsourcing company, you get the results you want without worrying about the hiring and training components.

Myth 3: Outsourcing Means Giving Up Control

Many business owners are worried that they will lose control of their sales and marketing efforts if they outsource those tasks. This is simply not true as long as you partner with an outsourcing company that is dedicated to open communication and focused on meeting your goals. You’ll want to do your research before choosing an outsourcing agency, but once you find the right one who helps you develop a marketing strategy, establish a workflow, and create a path toward your revenue goals, you’ll actually feel more in control of your processes than you would with an internal sales team that’s not functioning properly.

Myth 4: Outsourcing Companies Hire Anyone

The people who work for marketing and sales outsourcing agencies are true professionals who are experts in the field. They are not just warm bodies who make cold calls all day. They know what they’re doing and they will be focused on achieving your objectives.

Conclusion

If you’ve always had a bad impression of outsourcing, it’s time to take another look and see what a lead generation company can do for your bottom line. You might just be surprised at how far an outsourcing agency can take you.
