Following the earlier release of DuckAssist, a digital assistant designed to help users quickly grasp webpage summaries or engage in natural language interactions for query responses, DuckDuckGo has now officially launched Duck.ai, an AI-powered service previously available in beta testing.
Duck.ai enables users to interact via a chatbot interface, offering the flexibility to select AI models from leading providers such as OpenAI, Meta, and Anthropic, facilitating search queries through conversational exchanges.
Currently, the available AI models include OpenAI’s o3-mini, Meta’s Llama 3.3, Anthropic’s Claude 3 Haiku, and Mistral’s Small 3, allowing users to choose the most suitable model based on their needs.
DuckDuckGo emphasizes that Duck.ai not only enhances AI-driven productivity but also upholds strict privacy protections while offering greater flexibility. The service is provided entirely free of charge and can be used anonymously, requiring no account registration. Moreover, all conversational data is stored exclusively on the user’s device, ensuring that no information is uploaded to DuckDuckGo or any external servers.
As for updates to the DuckAssist digital assistant, new features now allow for customization, an expanded selection of reference sources, and the ability for users to adjust the processing duration of AI responses—whether longer for deeper insights or shorter for quicker summaries—while aggregating information from a broader range of sources.
