According to the IBTIMES English website reported on the 21st, the British intelligence agency GCHQ recently revealed that the country has enacted a comprehensive network of weapons to weaken hostile countries, aimed at countering the threat posed by Russia, China, Iran and other countries.

GCHQ revealed that the United Kingdom is currently aiming at different levels of “high deterrence” targeting rival countries through its cyber attack plan. Although GCHQ does not specify the details, the capabilities developed include the failure of fighters, ships, and missiles in another country. However, GCHQ said this high-end counterattack may never be used.

Subsequently, an annual report issued by the Information Security Council (ISC), which oversees the work on GCHQ, MI5 and MI6, details how the UK’s cyber defense program is advanced.

On the one hand, British people are worried ISIS attacks on water supply, power grids and telecommunications systems in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, the threat from Russia should not be underestimated. According to MI6 evidence provided to the ISC, Russia is conducting a network of information warfare, such as a series of positive and negative network advocacy work. As a result, Prime Minister Theresa May traveled to Warsaw on December 21 to discuss with other countries how to crack down on false intelligence from Russia.

Dominic Grieve, president of the ISC, said past diplomatic attempts to block cyber attacks from countries such as Russia, China, and Iran, but recent cyber-activity in Russia appears to indicate a change of circumstances. “Changes in Russia’s attitude are crucial to ensuring the security of the UK system and preventing and cracking down on high-end Internet activities must become a top priority for the British government.”
