However, GitHub hopes to change this situation. Previously, GitHub Education was only targeting a small number of educational institutions with degrees or certificates, and now the project is extended to all schools.

GitHub Education is a series of tools and training programs. Ability to use GitHub Enterprise or Business Hosted for free, and to train teachers on the platform through GitHub Campus Advisors. Naturally, GitHub is not the only source code management company targeting the education market.
