Google Advanced Protection Program now supports iOS applications
Google announced today that its Advanced Protection Program service will cover Apple’s official applications, including Apple Mail, Calendar, and Contacts. This service provides high-level security protection for those who need to prevent hackers to the maximum extent. The service targets are mainly journalists, activists, business leaders, and others who are considered vulnerable to security breaches.
The Advanced Protection Program provides Google’s strongest protection against phishing, accidental sharing, and fraudulent account access through the use of two physical Security Keys and demanding rules.
Prior to today, the Advanced Protection Program only allowed users to use Google applications, but now the service extends only some of Apple’s official applications so that iOS users do not need to change their usage habits.
Apple’s Mail, Calendar, and Contacts apps now have access to Google’s Gmail, Calendar, and Contacts data.
