Google AdWords has not made any official response to this report. However, according to its customers, such as companies directly engaged in advertising, marketing companies, public relations agencies, etc., their ad traffic has dropped a bit. Some customers even found that their ads were rejected or taken offline.
For example, Lamium, a blockchain startup from Finland, posted an ad on Google one month ago, but now its ads and even Google Ads accounts have been disabled. In response, Laminum wrote on the Google AdWords technical support page: “So I understand why the ad was suspended, but why was the account itself suspended?”
Another user also stated that their blockchain technology development company’s account has also been suspended because of “misrepresentation” and will be used as a title.
However, Google official does not seem to have any special policies on cryptocurrencies or ICOs.
According to Finance Magnates, the daily performance of Google’s AdWords has experienced thousands of declines in recent days, and this happens when cryptocurrency- related ads are blocked.
There may be some reasonable explanations as to why this happened. One of them is Google’s excessive reaction to fake news, malicious advertisements, and encrypted mining fraud policies, or Google’s censorship has become extremely strict when it comes to encryption companies.
