Greenie Linux 18.04 released: Linux distribution for slovak/czech and e-book readers and authors

Greenie is one of the Linux distributions. Unlike any other, it is originally from Slovakia and prepared for users in Slovakia and Czech Republic. All advantages from Ubuntu, OUT-OF-THE-BOX codecs, and translations and a great balance of software. New versions are also prepared for book readers, writers and everyone who need or wish to work with e-books.
What does Greenie provide?
- A good system for various uses – Internet, office, games …
- Specific applications such as hardware testing or data saving
- A pleasant environment that the user may not study
- Language translations, codecs, programs requested in Slovakia, The Czech Republic or Poland
- Long-term support. Greenie is based on the LTS release of Ubuntu
The new version of the Greenie operating system is here. Greenie 18.04 is based on Ubuntu MATE 18.04 LTS. Kernel 4.15, LibreOffice 6, GIMP 2.10, MATE 1.20 and much more packages are included. A good selection of programs will allow beginners to use this system immediately. It includes the OpenTTD game (including expansion packs), terminal tools and aliases, add-on fonts or preinstalled WINE. As opposed to Ubuntu MATE, the system is cleared from language packs, fonts, or documentation in languages that are useless for users in Slovakia, Czech Republic or Poland.
