Hackers suddenly returned $20,000 to Coindash
On Friday, February 23, Coindash through its official blog announced, the company received 20,000 purse hacker returned ETH currency. Last July, hackers tampered with the storage address of Coindash and stole about 37,000 Ethemes from ICO investors at a time worth about $10 million. The current return of 20 million tokens from Coindash is worth about $17 million.
The deal was the second time hackers returned money to Coindash. On September 19, 2017, 10,000 Ethereum tokens were returned to Coindash’s Ethereum wallet valued at about $3 million.
Ironically, the hacking attacks on Coindash last year, which were then described as “damaging event to both our contributors and our company,” now seem to have had a significant impact on the company’s capital value enhancement. After the most recent transaction, the sum of the value of the 30,000 Ether returned by the hacker is equal to about $20 million – or twice the value of the assets they were stolen.
Coindash CEO Alon Muroch issued a statement saying “Similar to the hack itself, the hacker’s actions will not prevent us from the realizing our vision, Coindash product launch will take place next week as originally intended.” Coindash’s Product announcement held on February 27.
Coindash’s blog states that the company “notified the Counter Cyber Terrorist Unit in Israel” about the return of hackers and said, “The hacker’s Ethereum address will continue to be tracked and monitored for any suspicious activity.”
