How mobile devices help studying

Do Son May 13, 2020 4 minutes read
Mobile devices

The smartphone of today is quite different from the mobile phones we used to have 12-15 years back. The difference between a smartphone and a mobile phone at first was the touchscreen. This difference was further strengthened by the former’s ease of use. Other features soon found their way into the smartphone. Then came the larger than a pocket device sized iPad and tablets. The innovation helped an entire generation of students. Even if they feel- i need help with my science homework, the Internet is there to help them.

Students were able to get the most significant educational benefit from these connected devices. The tablets have large screens, an optional storage boost, and internet connectivity makes them great study devices. All this served to make tablets an instant hit for students. Even smartphones with large screens are helpful for students too!

Mobile devices have had a significant effect on how we lead our lives. Please note that by mobile devices, we refer to smartphones and tablets and not simple cell phones.

This enormous influence of mobile devices is felt in education too. Not only in homes and dorm rooms, but mobile devices are reshaping classroom teaching also. Even young children can figure out how to use mobile devices. This familiarity and attraction for the equipment make devices an excellent platform for achieving educational aims. Students are also able to seek out top writing services on scamfighter.net and other similar sites with ease.

Role of Mobile Devices in Classroom Teaching

There are several ways in which mobile devices can help in classroom teaching. Students can look up topics given by teachers. A quick Google search is all it takes after all. Mobile devices make the task of preparing class reports really easy. You can compile professional quality reports with charts and other elements through apps.

US adolescents use the Internet through their mobile devices while at school. It would be wise to use this habit for an educational purpose.

Another great use of mobile devices is in taking and organizing notes from the teacher. Tablets store almost a whole library of eBooks and can be a lighter substitute to paper books.

Another great use of mobile devices in classrooms is in communication. Students can’t really talk to each other while the class is going on. With a mobile device, they can share ideas and opinions on study topics both in and out of the classroom.

The majority of teachers recognized the educational potential of mobile devices in education. This is what a survey conducted by researchers at Boston College revealed. There were, of course, apprehensions about how the devices might distract students. But that is only natural!

Role of Mobile Devices in Education Outside the Classroom

The tendency of students to keep off studies until the last moment continues till today. In fact, 60% of students put it off till the last moment. They won’t study and, at the final moment, choose the “pay someone to do my essay» option.

On the contrary, more than 53% of students were likely to complete study tasks if the material was there in their mobile devices. A whopping 88% of students have used mobile devices to do research on their study topics in the last hours.

Studying in bed is a habit; this is quite common among students. Instead of large books, students can use large-screen smartphones and tablets. Besides studying eBooks and accessing the Internet while lying down on their bed’s, students can also search for top writing services on ScamFighter.net. In fact, more than 22% of students make use of mobile devices for study purposes while staying in bed.
