Kaspersky Lab appeal against the US ruling
Kaspersky Lab appealed to a court ruling in the United States on June 6. This ruling effectively prohibits the use of Kaspersky’s software in national institutions in the country. The US District Court for the District of Columbia earlier rejected the lawsuit filed by Kaspersky Lab. In the lawsuit, the company called for the removal of the ban on the use of Kaspersky Lab software approved by the National Assembly and all related companies.
Kaspersky Lab claims that the U.S. government’s decision has not been investigated with any significant facts and there is no evidence of the company’s illegal acts and malicious network activities.
Kaspersky Lab emphasized that they are willing to cooperate with the U.S. authorities and are prepared to provide information on the database of their working methods including code.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security issued an order on September 13, 2017, requiring all state agencies and related companies to begin implementing measures to stop the use of Kaspersky Lab’s software within three months because they may be used to cause damage to U.S. national security.
Kaspersky Lab responds and guarantees that the company will not assist any government in its attempts to attempt cyber espionage or cyberspace attacks. In December last year, the company filed a lawsuit in the District Court of the District of Columbia requesting the repeal of orders from the Department of Homeland Security.
