Microsoft adds call recording feature to Skype
After 15 years since the first version was released, the well-known chat application Skype finally ushered in the call recording function. In the past, Skype officials did not provide their own recording capabilities, and users rely mainly on third-party applications such as Xsplit, Wirecast, and Vmix. The same products, including the above three, allow the recording of Skype calls for many years, but now Microsoft hopes to introduce a simpler official version.
In the latest versions designed for video bloggers, live users, and podcasts, Windows 10 and Mac users can record calls in the “content creator” mode of Skype on the desktop. In the new version can still choose their favorite third-party applications for recording. Users can make live calls on YouTube channels or Twitch, or import audio files into Adobe Premiere Pro and other software for editing.

Although Microsoft did not mention it, for reporters, this improvement is undoubtedly very practical. It can record international sources and business meetings without using any recording tools, facilitating reporters to carry out the finishing.
Skype will announce this feature at the NAB conference in Las Vegas next week and is expected to be open to all users this summer.
