The hacker group NB65 has released news that the group has hacked the All-Russian state television broadcaster, stealing 900,000 emails and 4,000 documents. All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) is a state-owned enterprise under the Russian government, operating 5 national television stations, 2 international networks, 5 radio stations, etc. This company was established before the disintegration of the Soviet Union. After its establishment, it became a TV broadcasting organization for the whole territory of the Soviet Union alongside the Soviet Central Television.

A security company has already downloaded the data published by the hacker and verified it. After verification, the data is confirmed to be valid. The total data volume after de-duplication is 786.2GB. The content of the data is mainly emails and various attachments. The time range of the data is about 20 years.

On Sunday, NB65 posted a tweet where they named SSK Gazregion LLC as the next target. “You have the unfortunate circumstance of being our next example to the Russian government,” the group said in a statement. “Normally, your IT team would probably restore from backups. Don’t worry about that. We deleted all of them.

The All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company has not yet responded to the hacking incident. It is unknown whether it is investigating the data breach or whether it feels it is unnecessary to respond.
