Nokia 7 Plus users are forcibly downgrade from Android P preview to Oreo
At last month’s I/O 2018 Developer Conference, Google announced that non-Google devices would also be available for Android developers preview versions, including Nokia and OnePlus. Nokia 7 Plus, run by HMD Global, is one of the first devices to experience. However, in a recently released preview version, the device was accidentally skipped. Although it is not clear who the pot is at the moment, many Android beta users have received an updated statement.
The least comprehensible is that after these users had applied the Google June security patch, they found that the Android version downgrade to Oreo. In fact, the update pack has a size of 1.3GB, which means that it is not just a security update.

After being forcibly downgraded, users have suffered a large number of “applications have been unresponsive” and crashed, as the data on their device was meant to be on the newer version of Android.
What’s even more frustrating is that you can’t roll back using the installation package provided on Nokia’s Android P page because it’s much older than the one you’re currently using.
Usually, beta tests and developer preview versions contain some of the more significant bugs or problems, but the confusion caused by unintentional downgrades makes things even more complicated.
Then again, the user can at least restore the phone to the factory settings to use a more stable Android 8.1 Oreo.
Nokia did not comment too much on this situation. A community forum moderator stated that HMD Global would investigate the matter.
