Building a PC is a dream for everyone and if you’re looking to build your first gaming PC and confused about which online tool you should use for checking the compatibility, then here I’m with another exclusive post.

In this post, I’m going to compare PC Builder vs BuildMyPC and also let you know which one is best for checking the compatibility of affordable laptop for gamers.

So let’s get started…

PC Builder vs BuildMyPC – An Introduction

Before we continue further into this article, first, let’s learn a bit about these two PC-building websites and see how they’re useful in building a PC for ourselves.

PC Builder

As you may have guessed by the name, PC Builder is one of the best tools that build a list of customized and compatible PCs. It is really one of the best websites out there with advanced features and compatibility that helps you to choose the best parts from thousands of pc parts.

There are no limits or restrictions in terms of parts. You can choose everything from hardware to operating system using this online tool. If you’re looking to build your PC using the latest hardware and software, then this is the website for you.

BuildMyPC

BuildMyPC is the second most popular website on our list for building the list of compatible PC parts. This website is especially popular in India and the United States. It also has a wide range of PC parts and it is helpful for building a list of compatible and customized PCs.

The recently updated BuildMyPC also includes the latest and compatible hardware and software but if you want to use the latest hardware, then it is best to use PC Builder instead because they have more parts available with higher quality.

PC Builder vs BuildMyPC – Which One to Choose for PC Building?

This is one question that I have seen asked a lot of times by our readers on various forums such as Reddit, Facebook, etc.

Personally, I have used both PC Builder and BuildMyPC a lot of times and they also have some similarities too. Both of them offer customizable PC parts but sometimes they differ in terms of the parts list when you search for the same hardware on these two websites.

So based on it, we will compare both of these websites on various metrics like;

  • Ease of Use
  • Number of Products & Total Builds
  • Supported Merchants and Vendors
  • Accuracy in PC Compatibility

Ease to Use

Both PC Builder and BuildMyPC share a similar design and it is really easy to use both of these websites for checking the compatibility of your PC parts. They both use drop-down menus to choose the parts and it gives you a list of compatible parts based on the price range.

Along with it, they both provide compatibility of PC parts with various accessories like keyboard, mouse, external drives, etc – but PC Builder goes beyond it and provides compatibility with a few additional software too.

Verdict: They both have similar designs and a system builder, but PC Builder has a little more information about the compatibility and hardware.

Number of Products & Total Builds

Comparing both of these websites on the number of products is really important, it shows how much these websites are updated with the latest and more compatible products. And after checking and analyzing both websites, we have seen PC Builder has 3x more products than BuildMyPC.

While writing this post, PC Builder has around 7.6K+ products in various categories and their webmasters are working hard to cover all the pc parts in upcoming months and BuildMyPC has around 1640 products.

Not limited to this, but PC Builder also wins at a number of builds made by its users with over 1.1M+ custom pc designs which is approx doubled then BuildMyPC.

Verdict: PC Builder is a clear winner here with 3x more PC parts.

Supported Merchants and Vendors

Supported merchants and vendors are another most important thing which you should have to take a look at while comparing both of these tools. As of now, they both support Amazon in a few countries like the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, India, Italy, and Australia.

But when we discuss this with their team, they’ve assured us that they’re planning to launch their service in a few more countries and also they’ll support a few more vendors in upcoming months.

Verdict: It’s a tie… they both support Amazon in a few countries only.

Accuracy in PC Compatibility

After analyzing the compatibility of both websites, we have found that PC Builder has a number of great features and more compatibility than BuildMyPC. It supports compatibility with a lot more products than BuildMyPC does.

But it doesn’t mean BuildMyPC is losing here, it also comes with great compatibility checking with the latest as well as old hardware and software. They both show the list of parts that are only compatible with the components you’ve already chosen.

The compatibility is not only based on the part you’re selecting but also depending on other accessories used in the PC.

Verdict: It’s a tie… they both are best for checking the compatibility of your PC parts, PC Builder has some pros over BuildMyPC – but BuildMyPC also supports the compatibility of old components.

Conclusion

In the end, we can conclude that both of these websites are great for building your PC, they just have some similarities and differences in some areas. If you’re looking to build a gaming PC, then PC Builder is the best choice to choose because it offers a variety of components.

But if you’re looking to build a PC for your workflow or need to upgrade your old system, then BuildMyPC is the best choice because of its compatibility with older and outdated components as well.

I hope this article has helped you to choose the best one for you to build or to upgrade your PC. If you have any questions or suggestions, then feel free to comment below.
