Google has recently unveiled four major updates for Android 15, including AI-powered fraud detection in Google Messages, real-time location sharing for users via the Find My Device feature, gaming support for Android Auto, and a price-tracking tool in Chrome for Android. Additionally, Google has introduced more exclusive features for its Pixel smartphones.
The AI-powered fraud detection in Google Messages leverages artificial intelligence to identify potential scam messages while ensuring user privacy through on-device processing. The system provides analytical insights and offers the option to block suspicious messages.
For users in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. with Pixel 6 and later models, AI-powered filtering is now available to screen scam calls in English.
As part of its broader AI enhancements, Google has upgraded the Pixel Studio tool for the Pixel 9 series, enabling users to generate AI-powered stickers and avatars, although realistic human portraits remain restricted.
Furthermore, Google has expanded the availability of Pixel Studio and Pixel Screenshots to Pixel 9 series and Pixel 8 Pro devices in Japan, while Pixel 9 models in Germany will receive additional AI-driven feature updates.
The latest version of Gemini Live integrates the Gemini 2.0 Flash model, enhancing its multilingual comprehension and interaction capabilities. Users can now enrich conversations by incorporating images, files, and YouTube videos. Meanwhile, Gemini Advanced subscribers using Pixel devices can access the Deep Research functionality for in-depth information retrieval.
One of Android 15’s key updates includes real-time location sharing, allowing users to share their whereabouts with friends and family or check a contact’s location for easier coordination in meeting places.
In Android Auto, new updates introduce gaming support for titles like Candy Crush Soda Saga, Angry Birds 2, and Beach Buggy Racing. When a vehicle is stationary, users can play these games on the in-car display using compatible controllers.
The Chrome browser for Android now includes a price-tracking feature that monitors product price fluctuations and notifies users when discounts or promotions are available.
Additional updates enhance the Pixel 9 series’ camera functionality, allowing seamless integration with GoPro cameras or a secondary Pixel phone for expanded shooting angles. The Pixel Fold’s dual-screen preview mode has also been upgraded to support dynamic video recording.
The latest Pixel Watch update introduces an FDA-approved pulse halt detection feature, which can identify potential signs of cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, circulatory collapse, drug overdose, or toxic shock, triggering an automatic emergency alert on the Pixel Watch 3. Other improvements include the addition of menstrual cycle tracking and a refined algorithm for more accurate step count and activity monitoring, ensuring precise health and fitness data.
