Tests show that Quad9 has a longer latency response than Google’s public DNS service 8.8.8.8, but Quad9 project members said it will help reduce latency by caching and adding nodes. GCA’s Phil Rettinger said the Quad9 focuses on privacy protection, does not record the address of the request, and only saves the location data in order to track requests related to specific malicious domains.
