The first Oreo version of Android Go will appear at MWC 2018
Android Go mainly for the low-cost entry-level device, its hardware performance is relatively limited, it will be based on the full version of the Android operating system to streamline it. The current Android flagship storage has been popular 4 ~ 6GB, but the Android Go market may not even 1GB RAM is not much, not to mention the processor performance and storage space of the shortboard. The good news is that Google has released the first smartphone based on Android Oreo (Go Edition) to be available next week.
Hiroshi Lockheimer, senior vice president of Google Platforms and Ecosystems, said: “At affordable prices, there is also a need to ensure that these devices have a quality-assured experience.”
If you say that hardware is the foundation, the software is the soul of electronic devices. For Android Go, Google offers a complete set of optimized official applications, such as YouTube Go, Google Go, Gmail Go and others that have landed on the Play Store.
These Go applications promise the same core features as the download and install packages are smaller. The cost of running smoothly on entry-level hardware is the sacrifice of eye-catching animations.
However, in the case of promoting Android Go, Android One positioning (for more common-performance devices) a bit embarrassed. Even if Google promised Android One can receive 2 years of “rapid upgrade”, as well as 3 years of security updates.
The streamlined interface makes it easier to access Google Maps, photos, YouTube and other services, means that the phone can make better use of hardware, theoretically extended the overall service life.
Google announced the launch of several Android Oreo (Go Edition) devices during MWC 2018 and is expected to see a more differentiated pricing for Android One while expanding the Android Go market.
