Ubuntu MATE 17.04 released

Ubuntu MATE is a new member of the Ubuntu family and is an Ubuntu branch that uses the Mate desktop system. Mate is a Linux desktop system based on Gnome 2 development.

The new version will support nine months, MATE 1.18 as the default desktop environment. We have made great efforts to improve Ubuntu MATE 17.04 in the following ways:

• MATE team did a great job, released MATE 1.18.0, completed the GTK 3 transition;
• Fixed countless bugs and introduced some new features that were needed very much;
• DanielForé contributed a new icon for style and panache;
• Solus’s Ikey Doherty has partnered with Ubuntu MATE to create the Brisk menu;
• Dave and other contributors from Linux contributed a new black theme Ambiant-MATE Dark …
