On Thursday, the famous American sports equipment brand Under Armour said that 150 million MyFitnessPal user data was leaked last month. MyFitnessPal is an Under Armour food and nutrition theme application. The statement on user data leakage caused the company’s stock price to drop by 2.4%.

MyFitnessPal is a popular application in the Apple and Google App Stores, allowing users to track calories burned every day, set sports goals, integrate data from other sports devices, and share sports results on social platforms like Facebook.

According to the company, the user data affected by this data breach incident includes the username, email address, and encrypted password.

Under Armour said that the data leakage incident did not involve private information such as social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and bank card numbers.

The sports equipment manufacturer stated that it was the data breach that was discovered on March 25 and that affected users have been notified since then.

Under Armour is working with a data security company to investigate the incident and the relevant regulatory authorities are also involved.
