Google Container, another add-on to Mozilla Firefox, uses the browser’s new container technology to isolate websites from other browsers. As the name implies, Google Container moves Google requests to a quarantine area to separate Google from other browsing data.
This extension is a branch of Mozilla’s Facebook container plugin that can be run in other container plugins, such as the YouTube container, to isolate YouTube.
The container is a relatively new feature of Firefox’s earlier implementation in the Mozilla browser. It allows users to run sites and services in containers to separate them from the rest of the browsing session and data.
Google Container supports major google.com addresses, as well as country domain names, blog post domain names, and other Google resources such as YouTube, Blogger, or blog.google. This extension does not support all Google-owned domains, but it does support all content running on google.com and some other attributes. So, most of Google’s content is included in the extension.
Google Container operates automatically. Every time you enter the URL of a supported Google domain or click a link to a URL, the site opens in Google Container to isolate it from other browsing sessions.
After installing the extension, most of Google Search, YouTube, and other Google resources and services can work as before. However, there may be some issues. For example, embedded content such as buttons and comments does not work, and if you do not load it in the container, you may not be able to use Google authentication on the site that uses it.
