What are 3 Dangers of Online Gaming?

Do Son May 13, 2020 5 minutes read
Windows 10 Build 17692

In the world of modern technology, you don’t need to go out of your house even for the basic requirements. You can get everything delivered at your home with just one touch on your smartphone or your laptop screen. This saves valuable time for you that you used to spend in those works. Saving that time you can utilize that in your office works to earn some more or to make your job more perfect. You can search for new and more challenging jobs also while you are free. Most importantly you can spend some more time with your family who needs you desperately in your free time.

The Internet has not only made your days freer but it has brought everything at your feast. Now the kids in your home don’t go to the playgrounds to play with their friends. They have found interest in the online warzone hacks games that they can play sitting in their study room. Newer technologies have made it possible that they can also play these games with their friends who are not present close to them physically but are connected through the internet. You can say this is better as they don’t have any chances to fall sick due to the external pollution and hazards of breaking hands or legs while playing outside. Though all these are true still there are bigger problems than these that are grabbing them.

What are Online Games?

Online games are nothing but kind of video games that you can play on your computer or your smartphone using the internet connection. You can play these games from anywhere if the internet connection is good. These are generally made of computer programming and algorithms. There are several games available on the internet like this and you have to download them. Some of the games are available for free but some of them need to be bought. They are the modern edition of the video games that the 90’s kids used to play.

Why are They having a Bad Reputation?

There are several impacts of these video games on the physical and mental health of the kids. Sometimes they are so severe that you need to be harsh on them to stop playing them; on the contrary, there are risks of online threats and monetary forgery. But not all the games are bad but there are some games that help the kids to improve their skills. Here we will discuss some of the health and other risks of these video games.

  • Online Threats

There are three types of online threats for your children waiting here online. The first type of online threat is a predator. Predators are nothing but some people who have posted traps in these gaming sites. The little kids step on these traps unknowingly and they can cause you lots of monetary losses. Not only have these, predators often sent explicit messages to the users of these sites. It may happen due to their curiosity and excitement they respond to any of the messages. Most of the time, these messages are sources of viruses that may cause an eruption of your system and data hacking.

You may think that you can limit the activities of your children in the kid’s friendly sites and games only by using parental control antivirus. But this is for your information that the predators are not that stupid that they don’t understand the psychology of the parents. So they target the student and kid-friendly sites to spread their traps. Many times it may happen that these predators may threaten your child to provide secret information about your banking activities and you may find your bank account is cleaned up. Not all the sites are like SkinWallet (as an example for a secured platform) where you can be 100% sure about your safety.

  • Cyber Bullying

As we have mentioned before that an online game can be played with many other players though they are not physically present near the main player. As in other games, there are competitions in these games as well. But healthy competition is a different thing whereas cyberbullying has become a very common thing now in online games. Some of the kids may use languages during the games that are not proper for them. Some players may be good at the games while some are not good, but the good player may use abusive statements to those kids who are not so well in playing the games. Sometimes these incidents may go so big that the local administration may have to get involved in it.

While cyberbullying is a big problem in the profanity of online games, at the same time addiction is another big reason for worry for the parent. Some kids get so involved in these games that they forget all their other works and keep on playing games. It hampers their study and other daily works. Addiction is a very big problem in the modern world which can cause different physical and mental problems to the kids. They may get depressed if sometimes they lose in the games. Sometimes the mentality of the kids gets violent and they can turn into aggressive persons. The games are sometimes very explicit. This puts a deep impact on the minds of the kids.

  • Physical Problems

Physical problems related caused by these games are big reasons for headaches for the parents now. To keep the body fit and fine people need to do some level of physical exercise that the earlier kids used to get through the games that they played in the playgrounds. Since the games got confined to the computers and the smartphones, the physical activities of the kids have gone down to zero. This causes lethal diseases from childhood like diabetes, obesity, liver cirrhosis, cholesterol, hypertension, and so on. Spondylitis, headache, vertigo, back pain, eye problems are very common symptoms now among the players of online games.
