Anti Theft Devices

According to the Insurance Bureau of Canada, car theft is a major problem that is occurring all across the world and costs about a billion dollars each year to an individual state. As a result, the fatalities and injuries occur each year because of this major car theft issue. It is very important to protect your car from theft as it prevents a person from experiencing the financial and emotional effects. Not only that, but it also restrains various potential tragedies from taking place.

Moreover, it can also make a huge and certain difference on your car insurance premium with your comprehensive insurance plan. Unlike collision insurance, which covers the expense of your repair costs, the comprehensive insurance is the only form that helps in reimbursing your car in case of theft.

To prevent this from happening, there are certain types of devices that are required to be installed in the car as they work as sensor systems. These devices are known as anti-theft devices and are eligible to make it difficult for a thief to drive your car. They make sure to lock the steering wheel, the brakes, and tires which is impossible to remove without the key of the car.

So, to stay secure, let us describe to you the importance of anti-theft devices and how they work.

Various Types Of Anti-Theft Devices

There are two main types of anti-theft devices that are passive devices and active devices. The passive device is supposed to automatically protect the car from being driven by anyone else. This device does not require any steps to fulfill before its activation. The alarm in the passive device is always activated.

However, the active device requires you to activate it every time you leave your car somewhere. This means you are not only required to close the door of the car properly but also need to put the steering wheel lock along with activating its alarm. Moreover, you will be required to lock the brakes and tires as well.

The passive device system is considered to be the most effective way to secure a car as it does not require you to remember its activation every time. The device gets ready itself once you leave the car. The prime example of an auto-theft passive device is the Auto immobilizer as it works automatically.

The Most Effective Device | Auto Immobilizers

As mentioned above auto immobilizers are currently considered to be the most effective type of anti-theft device in the market of vehicle system security. These devices are designed to prevent the car from getting started without the proper key which is also a coded one.

However, there is a huge variety of immobilizers available in the market but not all of them meet the requirements of car owners as well as the requirements set by different states on national security levels.

Moreover, it is important for a person to get an approved immobilizer as it not only disables the ignition system of the car but also disables the starter motor, ignition switch, and fuel pump which ultimately prevents it from getting theft. The system of an immobilizer activates when the chip inside it is located in the ignition system and the steering column.

These are also provided by car insurance companies. Also, checkout Nortech control which offers secure and long-range systems for vehicles.
