YouTube Premium Prices Rise Across Europe and Singapore Starting September 23

YouTube Premium subscribers across several European and Asian countries have recently received price-increase notifications from Google. According to the company, subscribers who do not cancel in advance will be renewed at the new pricing beginning September 23, 2026. Meanwhile, newly registered subscribers will be billed at the adjusted rates immediately.
Google has not published a complete official list of global pricing changes. Based on feedback subscribers have posted on social media, this round of price increases is concentrated primarily in Europe, with Singapore being the only Asian market affected – facing an increase of roughly 14%.
Price Adjustment Breakdown
- Spain: Individual plan rising from EUR13.99 to EUR15.99 per month; Family plan rising from EUR25.99 to EUR29.99 per month
- Portugal: Individual plan rising from EUR17.99 to EUR20.99 per month; Family plan rising from EUR25.99 to EUR29.99 per month
- Italy: Individual plan rising from EUR17.99 to EUR20.99 per month; Family plan rising from EUR25.99 to EUR29.99 per month
- Finland: Individual plan rising from EUR14.99 to EUR16.99 per month
- Romania: Individual plan rising from 29 to 32 lei per month; some users must actively accept the new pricing, or their subscription will automatically cancel upon expiration
- Netherlands: Individual plan rising from EUR13.99 to EUR15.99 per month; Family plan rising to EUR29.99 per month
- Hungary: Individual plan rising from 2,390 to 2,690 forints per month; Family plan rising from 4,790 to 5,390 forints per month
- Ukraine: Pricing has also been adjusted, though specific figures remain unknown
- Singapore: Individual plan rising from S$13.98 to S$15.98 per month; Family plan rising from S$27.98 to S$31.98 per month
Google’s Recurring Justification for the Price Hikes
Google has repeatedly adjusted YouTube Premium subscription pricing in recent years, and the reasoning offered each time remains identical: continuing to improve Premium while supporting creators and artists. As subscription prices have climbed steadily higher over the years, Google has simultaneously pursued increasingly aggressive anti-adblock measures to push more users toward subscribing.
For subscribers, paying for Premium unlocks a range of additional features. The most significant benefit remains the ability to skip the vast majority of ads. This is precisely why Google has adopted such an aggressive anti-adblock stance in parallel. Some subscribers have already voiced frustration over the repeated price increases. Now, with prices continuing to climb, it remains unclear. Specifically, it is not certain whether YouTube Premium’s overall subscriber growth rate has begun to slow as a result.
