Alphabet recently released its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2025, reporting revenues of $90.2 billion and operating profits of $30.6 billion—marking year-over-year growth of 12% and 20%, respectively.
This robust performance was primarily driven by Google Services, which include subscriptions, advertising, and hardware sales, collectively posting a 9.75% increase. Meanwhile, Google Cloud revenue reached $12.3 billion, reflecting a substantial 28% surge. In contrast, revenue from the company’s Other Bets segment fell to $450 million, indicating a decline compared to the same period last year.
Google also announced the market availability of its Gemini 2.5 AI model. Additionally, the number of paid subscribers to Google One cloud storage and YouTube Premium has now surpassed 270 million. The AI-powered search summary feature, “AI Overviews,” introduced last year, has also seen remarkable adoption, with monthly active users rising to 1.5 billion.
Looking ahead, Google plans to integrate more artificial intelligence capabilities across its suite of services and products. Notably, the company intends to phase out the existing Google Assistant and replace it with the more advanced Gemini AI assistant within the year, offering users a more dynamic and intelligent way to interact with their devices.
